ABOUT HOME
The Ranch includes 348 deeded acres and 620 acres of State lease land nestled in a private canyon just 30 miles east of Kingman and one mile off of Historic Route 66. The ranch perimeter is fenced and suitable for cows or horses.
The main headquarters is approximately 2,700 square feet two story ranch house with a large kitchen, large living room and a two story rock fireplace. Over sized picture windows through out the house capure the breath taking views of the mountains and canyons. The house has granite counter tops and a hugh back yard to enjoy the views and lazy summer days.
The ranch has two ponds the main one is stocked with bass, catfish, bluegill and crappie. Ducks have taken up residence on the pond with different varieties visiting at different times of the year. We see deer, coyotes, bobcat, fox and other wildlife in the area. We are at the conflux of two canyons that contain water. These are Wright Creek and Truxton Creek. Truxton Creek normally runs all year on our property and feeds the ponds with water. Sometimes you have to hike a ways up the canyon to find the water in Wright Creek. We have 68 acre feet of water rights per year plus 182,500 gallons for domestic use.
There are several different buildings, wells, corrals and barns on the ranch. There is a lot of history here. We actually own a few hundred feet of the old original Historic route 66 that runs through one corner of the property. There is an old house here that was the Fort Beal Stage Stop. The old train route ran through this property and stopped by the pond. There is an old hand dug well that is about 18 feet across and lined by large rocks. They claim it is the third largest hand dug well in the United States. It was built by the BLM and was used to supply the old steam engines with water.
We have water rights that are valuable and will be transferred with the property upon a sale. There are a lot of boulders on the property. We have had offers from company to buy our rock but we did not want to tear up the land.
We have 10 two and ½ year old cows. Five had calves this year. I believe that most of them are pregnant. Some of them should be calving soon. If you were interested in the cows we would sell them for $11,000. We also have two older quarter horses that are great riding horses for children.
